South Dakota State University
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
South Dakota State University
Johnson Consulting was engaged to provide a market and financial analysis for the development of a new on-campus Indoor Practice and Human Performance Facility for South Dakota State University (SDSU). Our report was used by design and finance team members and University administration as a basis of information.
The study included the following tasks:
- Reviewed all architecture work done to date, including master plan and capital costs
- Communicated the transaction structure, in order to isolate demand, revenue and expense factors pertinent to the indoor practice facility
- Analyzed demand and market support patterns within the competitive area for the regional indoor marketplace
- Identified and evaluated the competitive environment for the proposed indoor facility. Specifically, should SDSU decide to allow for other events within the facility besides university athletics?
- Developed a ten-year projection of revenues, expenses, debt service and funds for the public/private partnership with a local orthopedic firm.
